So much for a supposedly liberal campus in the middle of a supposedly liberal
city where personal freedom and personal responsibility and personal liberty
is valued.

Sure, bring your dog into a bar. Sure, make public transportation a huge
priority. Sure, encourage street entertainers to help people love the Pearl
Street Mall. Sure, do everything you can to show the world what a relaxed and
people-friendly city Boulder is, how peaceful and content the citizens are.
Sure, all of that and more.

But by-God don’t let those college students protest in a way which helps bring
national attention to the utter hypocracy of a long-ago failed and pointless
prohibition. Shriek especially loud at the notion that the young adults might
actually enjoy the side-effects of their protest.

For the conservatives among us, please don’t forget this “shut down the campus
to prevent student protest” effort because CU might not be as liberal as you
think. Of course, the real proof of that will be if the “liberal professors”
join the protest or join the administration’s decision.

The campus is closed. Let the students hold their peaceful protest outside the
iron curtain.
