what system is better for a Golf mk1 1800 carb induction kit or performance flat panel filter?

i have a golf citi with a 1800 (carburettor) engine and i want a nice roar from the engine, i am just confused because some people say i will lose power and other say i will gain but loose fuel in the rush so any ideas guys please assist

they are right you will go threw more gas but yes you will gain power.. and if you also want more always put a cold air intake on it. It will pur even better make sure you have it so no water will get in though or it will cause vapor lock
