There are ways to hit a perfect pitch shot when the ball lies a certain way You don’t have to change anything about your posture most of the time. You just have to play the ball the way it lies. So first you need your “check test.”
You need to a “check test” before your pitch shot. Then you have to try out wherever your ball lies. There are 3 ways your ball will most likely lie The first scenario is if the ball is sittting in an upward position. This means it’s above or standing on the grass. The second way is if the ball is sitting in a slim rough. And 3rd way is if the ball sitting in a deep rough. If you follow these 3 steps, you will hit a perfect pitch shot. Lets take a look at these 3 situations.
When the ball is sitting up-This is where the ball is sitting above the grassYou want to keep your stance the same, and the ball in the center of your feet when pitching from the fairway. At this point, the spot of your ball is in position and your swing will bottom out. You will be able to hit your pitch shots better without any interference.
When the ball is sitting slightly down in the rough-This where some of the ball is sits above the grass, and some is within the grass Here, you will position the ball in the back of the center of your stance. You want your shaft to lean towards your target, so you want to set your hands in front of your zipper. Doing this causes you to hit the ball first and not the turf.
When the ball is in a deep rough-This is where half of your ball is deep in the grass Place the ball toward your front foot. Play the ball where your swing bottoms out, and keep your hands in front of your zipper. This will make your shaft lean away from the target The loft of your club is doing the most work, and gives you a large clubface.
