Could anybody give me a ruling on this?
I was playing a singles, men’s matchplay semi-final yesterday, when on the 3rd hole I noticed that my opponent had drawn a target line across his putter (oddessey 2 ball) with a permanent marker/sharpie pen, giving him an alignment aid with which to putt.
Needless to say, I flagged him up on this and we played out the front nine and confronted the assistant pro, who EVENTUALLY declared that he was not breaching the rules and play resumed.
Could anyone help me out here?
