New driver needed!!! Tour Edge XLD or PING Rapture?
I can’t decide…there are some great deals on Ebay for the ping rapture used. I hit that club at a local golf store simulator and hit it 240 on the fly (I’m only 5’6″ 122 pounds). And the rapture is 400 dollars new and I see some good ones around $150 – 200.
On the other hand I hit the Tour edge XLD good too. I was hitting around 232 on the fly and it is a cheaper driver retailing new for about 300. I see some good ones around 200 on ebay. IDK what to do. I still have to take into account if I want a stiff or reg shaft too. My swing speed is just over 90 mph.
Given the options listed….I’d go Ping in a heart beat

Launcher Driver how far should i be hitting driver?
i am 12, 5’3″ and can hit the ball consistently 215. is this good for my age and height? i am pretty slender, about 90 lbs. i can hit it pretty straight with a slight fade. do you think if i worked out my arms and legs then i could hit it farther? ( in case someone is wonder i hit a cleveland gold launcher 400cc)
215 yards is definatly good for a 12 year old. Is that 215 in the air or after the roll as well? Either way, at 12 years old I would be very happy with that for a drive. Yes, if you were to work out your arms and legs you would notice improvement, however, it may also change your swing mechanics when your muscles tighten up. You are also at the age where you will begin growing very quickly so you may begin to notice alot of changes in your distance as you grow because you can create more leverage and more head speed as your swing becomes longer. Straightening out that slide fade may also add a few yards to your swing as you will convert more energy into forward momentum, rather than forward AND side spin. If you want to work out, a good one to do to help your swing would be to grab a medicine ball or light weight and rotate your torso with arms outstretched. This will build your oblique muscles which are heavily used when swinging a golf club.
