How do I hit a wedge shot where the ball is hit and bounces a couple of times and then just stops dead?

It would definitely be a great shot in my arsenal.

Times when I don’t have a lot of green to work with and need to get over a bunker or something, I use my 64 degree club and flop it up but that gets risky…I would really love to learn this shot.

Also, what is the correct name for this shot?

If you have like 25 yards and need to hit the shot you are talking about then you must slow down ball contact time this is tricky. You actually need to lag it a bit take a 52 or 56 and take a longer slower swing a nip it clean with no divot and a slower shallower approach utilizes all the grooves on the club the result will be a shot with no divot and true trajectory. The shot will fly lower and just stop when hit right you need a tight lie for this shot and again no divot because a downward blow causes the ball to rise and often result in a higher shot with spin or no spin good luck this is an advanced shot. I would like to add that this shot must be hit square ball placement must be in middle of stance and your path should never cut across the ball like most flop shot.The reason for this is the shape and design of you club this shot requires the ball to roll up the clubface and touch all the grooves square a cut shot nearly missed the heel and rises up the face in a triangular motion so the trick to this shot is square to square no outside swing path an avoid releasing the clubhead great question .
